Cricket Betting

With the creation of 20/20 cricket it won’t be long before cricket is clearly the second biggest sport on the planet. If you looked at sheer population numbers that love the game it would already be there but now. Cricket is a sport that can be played by everyone and it is action packed and exciting.

It is a high scoring game like basketball, has all the history and fielding prowess of baseball and has passionate supporters like football. It is a world sport that is played in Oceania, Asia, Middle East, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. This gives the game some serious scope for growth.

Aussie Progress at the 20/20

The Australians marched on in Bridgetown when they annihilated Sri Lanka by 81 runs. The Sri Lankans had the Aussies on the mat early on in the game but a 100 run partnership between Mike Hussey and Cameron White set up the Aussies with a more than competitive total of 168 off their 20 overs. The fast bowling duo of Nannes and Johnson then came on and systemically sliced through the Sri Lankan batting order to knock them over for 87. The Sri Lankans are a world class 20/20 team but they were blown away by an Australian team that haven’t dropped a beat so far in the West Indies.

Aussies: A New Low

The Australian Cricket Team have just beaten the West Indies 2-0 in a best of three test series. The last game was marred by some unsavory incidents that raised further questions of an Aussie side under desperate pressure.

Aussies and the 20/20 World Cup

The Australian Cricket Team has been bundled out of the World Cup in the first stage of the competition. The most worrying thing about this is that they didn’t appear to even care. 20/20 is here to stay. It’s a fast paced product that appeals to a huge range of current and potential cricket markets. The sub-continent has embraced the game as have the thousands of the cricket mad public, particularly children, who want fast paced action. The other great thing about this version of the game is that it is very marketable and it provides the perfect product to push into Asia, Europe and any other developing cricket markets.
