The fourth Ashes test is about to get underway from Headingley in Leeds this Friday. This has certainly been a test series that has all cricket mad internet betters panting for more. The standard of cricket at times hasn’t been fantastic but most importantly it has been a close contest which makes for great punting.
888sport has another tight market for this test with the draw marginally favourite at $2.37. The Australian’s appear excellent value paying $2.62 to level the series. The English seem a little short at $3.50 because they will be happy to bat the game out for a draw given half a chance.
England is, however, favoured in the betting when it comes to who will win the Ashes. They are currently at $1.73 with the Aussies at $2.00. The equation is very simple, Australia has to win a test match and the English have to prevent that from happening. Part of the joy of test cricket is that elements such as pitch conditions and weather play a role. If there is plenty of rain the Poms look good value but I think the Aussies are a great chance to winning one of the final two tests if the sun shines long enough for them to take 20 wickets.
888sport has betting on every conceivable market in Ashes from opening partnerships, most runs, most wickets and head to head betting. 888’s very own ‘King of Spin’ Shane Warne has described this as one of the closest series he has ever seen and admits that it could go either way. So grab a drink, kick back on the couch and flick on the television when everyone else has gone to bed and watch the creation of Ashes history unfold in front of your eyes.
