Betting on horse racing is something that has been around for thousands of years. The Egyptians, Greeks and the Romans all loved having a splurge on their chariot racing and betting on anything on four legs. The industry has come a long way since then but it has increased in popularity and continues to thrill people from all corners of the globe.

Crystal Lily was a worthy winner of the Golden Slipper last weekend. She started the race at around the 6/1 mark and received solid support without being backed off the map. To hold the Golden Slipper on Easter Saturday was a gamble in itself but it certainly paid off with a great day of racing.
The other great race on the weekend was the running of the BMW. Littorio caused an upset as the much fancied Theseo failed to run out the distance. It might be that Theseo is the best horse in the country up to 2000 meters but I am far from convinced the horse can go much further than that.
