What is it about Melbourne Storm

The Melbourne Storm is a good football team, in fact they are a great football team and their success is an interesting story. They don’t have a star studded team they just have a perfect blend of rugged no nonsense forwards, some big mobile backs and a few key play makers that are world class. Billy Slater, Cameron Smith and Greg Inglis are the guys that add the brilliance to the machine but make no mistake their importance certainly comes after the ‘team’ in general.

They are beautifully coached by former Canberra Raiders utility Craig Bellamy who was a no nonsense footballer himself. He played in the days before the Raiders became world beaters and he certainly watched and learned as an average team grew into Premiership heavyweights in the late 80’s early 90’s. There are no excuses when it comes to Bellamy; he just simply goes about his job in a professional forthright manner which revolves around a football team that knows how to win. This weekend they will travel up to the Gold Coast who is coming off their first loss of the season. This should be another great game and don’t be surprised if the Storm yet again find a way to get the two points.

In other games this week the Saints, South’s, Parramatta and Manly should all comfortably win. The Bulldogs need to bounce back against the Warriors in what should be a great game of football against two sides that have played some memorable games in the past. The other great match-up will see the Panthers host the Roosters. The Roosters have certainly played well this year but expect the Panthers to come out and touch them up this weekend.
