Basketball in Canada

Basketball is by no means the national sport of Canada. Nothing will ever come close to hockey for most Canadians, but we do love a game of hoops especially if there is nothing happening on the ice. We’re all just waiting for the Toronto Raptors grow some teeth and do for the game what the Blue Jays did for baseball in Canada.

Basketball is much loved because it is easy to play and anyone can go and find a hoop to have a bit of fun. The rules are basic and it’s a great leisure sport that will keep you coordinated and fit – even President Obama plays!

The other great thing about basketball is that there are plenty of games on all the time and you can always find a game of basketball to watch and even have a bet. After soccer it is arguably the next biggest world sport, so why not see what the fuss is all about?
