Then there were 8

There were some incredible results in the first round of the playoffs with one of the biggest upsets in ice hockey history coming when our very own Montreal Canadians sent the Capitals all the way back to Washington. The Capitals were the favourites in betting to win the title before they lost the last of a thrilling game season which saw the end of their season.

Stanley Cup gets serious

The Washington Capitals have emerged as unlikely favourites for this year’s NHL’s ultimate prize - the Stanley Cup. Teams like the Redwings and the Penguins are playing second fiddle to the team that claims to represent the nation of America in the battle for the greatest trophy of them all.

The second favourites are the Chicago Blackhawks who are clearly the second pick in a very competitive market. After that the San Jose Sharks are the next in betting but surprisingly the next team in betting after that is the Vancouver Canucks.

The Flames pack up the skates for another year

Canadian fans were again let down as the San Jose Sharks made 38 saves to clinch first place in the Pacific Division. When Colorado won a 4-3 shootout over Vancouver the Flames season was officially over. The only Canadians that cleaned up on the Flames were the ones that kept backing the unders in their games. The Flames seemed to constantly be able to keep their opponents to low scores but that didn’t matter as they struggled to put the puck in the back of the net themselves.

Online NHL betting

Betting on the NHL is something that is much easier these days than it used to be. In the past you could place an NHL bet with one of your friends or work mates but what happened when no one wanted to take the bet? The only other option you had was to take your chances with some questionable back street bookmaker who you didn’t know or trust.
