The Penguins March off with the Stanley Cup

Pittsburgh Penguins win the Stanley Cup against the Detroit Redwings as Quebec-born Maxine Talbot stars in Game 7.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have caused one of the greatest feats in sports betting history by knocking off the Detroit Redwings in the final of the Stanley Cup. Not only did the Redwings dominate all year, they had the massive advantage of playing the series-deciding last game at their home rink. Not only that, the Redwings also controlled the final series up until the last game. To come back from a 2-0 deficit was definitely against the odds but when the Redwings destroyed the Penguins 5-0 in Game 5 of the series, the mountain appeared nearly impossible to climb.

After the 5-0 drubbing the Penguins made the call to play the last two games tough. They were going to put everything they had in the faces of the Redwings and pray to somehow be in front by the end of the game. The identical score cards of the last two games (which saw the Penguins score 2 and hold the Redwings to just 1) shows how hotly contended the games were.

The Lemoyne, Quebec native Maxine Talbot was the star for the Penguins scoring two memorable goals in Game 7.
"Hey, I still have bad hands," stated a laughing Talbot at the podium.

"These two goals don't improve my stick handling skills. Like Geno (Malkin) said, I still have to work on it during the summer. But I don't really care about the two goals. Everybody's talking to me about that. I'm here because of that. But we won the game. Flower (Fleury) made some great saves. Geno won the Conn Smythe. Everybody sacrificed their body. Miroslav (Satan) goes on the ice and blocks a shot. This is how you win championships."

The other great effort was from Talbot’s best mate, Marc-Andre Fleury, who stood like a rock in the goals in the last two games.
