The wait is finally over

The Winter Olympics is here and the world is watching. Vancouver is a winter wonderland at the moment and its Canada’s turn to show everyone what a great country we have. It is the best possible time to be enjoying the Games and the Canadian athletes are doing their bit as well by showing just how talented they are when it comes to winter sports.

The Australians were crying when their own Canadian born, Dale Begg-Smith was defeated in the moguls by Montreal’s Alexandre Bilodeau. He made history by becoming the first ever Canadian to win a gold medal on home soil. It will be one of the enduring images of the Games but don’t be surprised if there are many more moments when the red maple leaf is winched up the flagpole.

Curling might be a little slower than the majority of the other sports at the Games but it’s certainly another event where we could be tasting gold at the end of the two weeks.
