We are fast running out of F1 Grand Prixes and betting opportunities on the primo motor sport in the world. It looks like German ‘Meister’, Sebastian Vettel, is running away with the Drivers’ Championship, topping the standings and looking to make a bit of history, securing back-to-back titles. In the remaining fixtures, there is still an outside chance that he could be caught, by teammate Mark Webber or by former World Champions: Alonso, Button and Hamilton but this seems unlikely; punters are betting heavily on a Vettel Championship, even at odds on.

It seems like German maestro, Sebastian Vettel, is unstoppable at the moment, attracting 1,000s upon 1,000s of bets for every single race and rewarding that faith by winning many of the F1 fixtures that he’s competed in; his success is one of the highlights of the season so far.

Vettel wants to achieve his place in F1 history, taking the mantel of the greatest F1 driver from his German compatriot, Michael Schumacher, but this ‘wunderkind’ still has a long way to go to reach the top of the all-time standings, even if he is dominating final places by some way at the moment.

On 30th October 2011 India will start its first ever Grand Prix. Taking place at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, it will be the 17th race of this season’s World Championship.

The circuit will be roughly 5.14 kilometres (3.19 miles) and has been designed by experienced Formula One designer Hermann Tilke.

Despite Sebastian Vettel’s almost unassailable lead, this year’s Formula 1 Drivers Championship is far from dead and buried and is definitely worth a bet. There are no less than 4 former World Champions in the top 10 of the current standings, other than current leader and Drivers’ Champion, Sebastian Vettel: Hamilton, Button, Alonso and Schumacher; this highlights the quality of drivers in the championship this season and that it is far more open a betting contest than it would first appear.
