Crusaders our only hope

The Crusaders appear to be the only Kiwi team likely to make this year’s Super 14 Finals. A great start to the season by two South African teams and three Australian teams has New Zealand Rugby fans scratching their heads wondering what has gone wrong.

888sport has seen a massive increase this year in Kiwi punters putting their online rugby bets on their favourite teams but unfortunately some of the most favoured teams in this year’s competition has let us all down.

The Chiefs, the Blues and the Hurricanes occupy 7th through 9th position on the Super 14 ladder. All of these teams basically need to win every game from here on in to secure a place in the finals. The Chiefs host the Stormers this weekend and need to come away with a victory. They have the Cheetahs the week after and could easily see themselves back in contention with two bonus point victories back to back. The Blues host the Western Force and on paper this looks like an easy victory but the Force has shown that they aren’t the easy beats we thought they were at the start of the season. The Hurricanes travel to Canberra but it is hard to see the boys from the capital turn around a very a disappointing season.

If you are a diehard Kiwi rugby fanatic you should be putting all your hope behind the Crusaders who should crush the Cheetahs this weekend. The Canterbury faithful are our best hope of turning a disastrous season into a winning one.
