While it may be the second tier of competition on the continent, there’s plenty to be earned by successful teams from the UEFA Europa League prize money pool.

The betting favourites in the UEL each season will be eyeing up over £28 million for a perfect run to the trophy, as well as a hefty sum for then partaking in the UEFA Super Cup next season.

Now that the UEFA Champions League and Europa League are kept completely separate – teams don’t drop from the UCL into the UEL anymore – the whole €565 million (£490.9m) prize money pool goes to UEL-qualified clubs.

How Much UEFA Europa League Prize Money Do the Winners Get?

The UEFA Europa League prize money for the winner of the tournament amounts to £5.21 million for lifting the trophy on top of the £6.08 million already earned for making it to the Final.

On top of this, the team will have made good on their football odds in the stages prior to collect £3.65 million from the Semi-finals, £2.17 million from the Quarter-finals, and £1.52 million from the Round of 16.

Even before the knockout stages, UEL prize money will have been collected in the form of £260,630 for getting through the League Phase, up to £2.35 million and another £521,250 for their ranking, and £390,940 per win.

In total, a team that wins every League Phase game and remains undefeated to the Final can expect to collect a final payout of UEFA Europa League prize money in the region of £28.6 million.

The UEFA Europa League stage has witnessed some incredible matches and some of the greatest goal scorers of European competition, but there’s a huge gap between the UEL prize money and Champions League prize money.

How Much UEFA Europa League Prize Money Do Teams Get in the League Phase?

The minimum amount of UEFA Europa League prize money that a team can expect from playing in the League Phase is £3.81 million. This is secured even if the team doesn’t win a game.

From there, a team can earn an extra £130,310 for a draw, £390,940 for a win, and £260,630 or £521,250 for finishing in the top brackets of the League Phase.

After the League Phase, the sums of prize money UEL teams can earn ramp up significantly, culminating in a potential multi-million pound payout if they win the Final, regardless of if it ranks among the best UEL Finals.
