What Happened In The 2025 Stayers Hurdle?

The now retired Rachael Blackmore won the Stayers' Hurdle aboard Bob Olinger to complete a double on the day. Trained by Henry de Bromhead, he beat last year's winner Teahupoo in a thrilling battle up the hill.

The victory was the third Grade One race of his career at The Festival after previously being successful in what is now the Turners Novices’ Hurdle (2021) and the Turners Novices’ Chase (2022).

Full result: 1st Bob Olinger 8/1, 2nd Teahupoo 7/4 F, 3rd The Wallpark 7/1 (Ex: £27.30 CSF: £21.28) 13 ran.

Stayers Hurdle News 2026

The Stayers’ Hurdle has attracted the joint-second lowest entry since 2011, with just 29 horses entered for this year’s contest at the January 13th entry stage.

However, the last two winners, Teahupoo and Bob Olinger feature once again. The Robcour-owned pair won the contest in 2024 and 2025 respectively.

Teahupoo (7/4) is once again favourite for the race. He took the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse and was miles ahead his rivals in the Grade 1 Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown. On paper he appears to be the one they all have to beat.

Prominent in the betting is JP McManus’ Honesty Policy. The six-year-old chased home Impose Toi when a running on third at Ascot and is a Grade 1 winning novice.

The Brits will be hopeful that they can take the spoils this year with Impose Toi. Nicky Henderson’s representative is unbeaten this season, winning a Pertemps Qualifier at Aintree, the Grade 2 Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury and the Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot.

Current Stayers Hurdle Entries & Odds

Stayers’ Hurdle sports betting odds: Teahupoo 7/4, Honest Policy 9/2, Impose Toi 5/1, Bob Olinger 9/1, 14/1 bar.
