James Daniel Maddison was born on November 23rd, 1996, in Coventry, West Midlands.
A naturally gifted footballer from a very young age, it didn’t take Coventry City long to realise what they had on their doorstep. Aged seven, he was recruited into their academy.

Per month | €875,409 | £736,830 |

Per day | €28,780 | £24,224 |

‘On their doorstep’ incidentally is not a figure of speech in this instance. With his father Gary, mother Una, and brother Ben, James grew up in a three-bed semi that was just down the road from the Sky Blues’ training facility. Only a set of traffic lights needed to be crossed and he was there.
In due course, the attacking midfielder progressed through the ranks, his size sometimes an issue, that was until he popped up again with a fantastic free-kick to reassure his coaches.
Aged 17 he was handed his first-team debut, coming off the bench to torment Cardiff City in a League Cup game.
That was 2014, a decade ago, and in the time since Maddison has established himself as one of England’s brightest talents, forever enterprising and blessed with an immaculate touch.
His natural gifts have brought him fame and international recognition. They have also made the Spurs star an extremely wealthy individual.
How Much Is James Maddison Worth?
In his final three season at Leicester, Maddison was one of the best paid players on their books, bringing home £110,000 a week. That salary shot up to £170,000 on joining Spurs in the summer of 2023, a wage that equates to £8,840,000 per annum.
Yet even prior to playing for the Foxes, it’s entirely reasonable to suggest that the player was already a multi-millionaire.
What intrigues about Maddison’s net worth however is that his earning power is now on the cusp of sky-rocketing, his profile being what it is. He is a marquee player for a top six side.
He is a full England international. Furthermore, he is a popular figure in the game, liked by neutrals and with a trademarked celebration to boot.
All of which explains why Puma rolled out the red carpet for him in 2019, in preparation for this probable outcome.
The player was whisked to the sporting manufacturer’s headquarters in Germany for a tour, whereupon he signed an exclusive deal said to be worth in excess of half a million pounds a year. That will easily have doubled by now as his stock continues to rise.
Elsewhere, it’s worth noting that the player does a lot for charity, including hosting his own golf day once a year to raise money for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice in North London.
James Maddison’s net worth is estimated at £18m.
Club Career
The player’s first season as a pro was a steep learning curve, with one particular game standing out.
Against Middlesbrough a handful of appearances in, Maddison grew frustrated at a lenient ref and decided to take matters into his own hands by diving. He was duly booked for his trouble.
Later in the match, his man-marker rattled him again and this time the youngster lashed out. He saw red for that.
Two hundred senior outings on and Maddison has only been sent off once more. He is far more savvy now at dealing with over-zealous opponents, his game-management improving ten-fold.
If that hints at a certain amount of initial naivety from the teen it was not evident elsewhere. With the ball at his feet, he would create chance after chance for the Sky Blues, his awareness of those around him innate. It was becoming very clear, and quickly, that he was much too good for League One.
Which is when Norwich came calling, almost immediately sending the midfielder up to Aberdeen on loan and Scotland proved to be the making of the emerging talent. Maddison thrived in the SPL, loving his football there.
His education complete, he returned to East Anglia to show what he could do, and on a weekly basis he not only impressed the Carrow Road faithful but a litany of scouts who would turn up for every game.
Among them was a Barcelona employee, who regularly sent back rave reports.
That was because Maddison was sensational in 2017/18, his first full campaign for the Canaries. He ended up being voted Player of the Season and was nominated for the Championship Young Player of the Year.
Maddison signed for Leicester that summer, the step-up to the Premier League no obstacle to his brilliance.
Each and every pre-season the Foxes would be tipped in the football betting to finish high in the table and each and every season they would oblige, with Maddison central to proceedings.
Across five seasons in the East Midlands, Maddison shone, enhancing his reputation with every Man of the Match award.
When the Foxes were unexpectedly relegated in 2023 it was time to move on, with Tottenham winning the race for his signature courtesy of a £40m bid.
Just over a year into his tenure in North London, Maddison is always firmly established as a fan favourite.
England Career
An international call-up came early, when Maddison was asked to sit on the bench and soak up some experience, as England played out a couple of Nations League games in 2018.
A year later came the first instance of controversy in the player’s career, when he withdrew from a Gareth Southgate squad citing illness, only to be filmed in a casino that weekend.
Southgate took some time to forgive the Leicester star but forgive him he did, selecting him in his squad for Qatar 22. The midfielder did not play a minute but was now back in the reckoning.
A series of instrumental displays for his country during their Euro qualifiers had many tipping him to be on the plane to Germany last summer but a failure to fully recover from injury resulted in his omission.
Maddison was said to be devastated by the decision but what’s the betting he returns sharper and hungrier than ever, intent on impressing the new Three Lions gaffer.
Family Life
In 2020, Maddison met Kennedy Alexa, a swimwear model and just twelve months later they became proud parents to Leo.
Fast-forward to July 2023 and the player’s family was ‘complete’ with the births of twins Delilah and Rome.
As a consolations for missing out on the Euros, becoming a father to two adorable babies is probably right up there.
