An integral part of the Manchester City team that was consistently priced as Premier League betting favourites, Kyle Walker is one of the most decorated defenders in the history of English football.

With pitch-stretching pace and underrated technical ability, Walker was an asset for City and England during periods of team success.

Breaking through at Sheffield United before becoming a household name and full international with Tottenham, he had a loan spell with Milan in 2025 before returning to the northwest with newly promoted Burnley.

How Much Is Kyle Walker Worth?

Walker’s net worth is believed to be around £27 million, according to various sources.

He spent the best part of a decade as a fixture on a football betting powerhouse, so it was inevitable he would amass a fortune.

After signing a string of contract extensions, carrying salary increases, with Tottenham in the 2010s, Walked penned a five-year deal worth around £20 million with Manchester City in 2017.

He landed a further extension in 2019 and added another couple of years to his pact with the club in 2023.

Salary

Kyle Walker will have taken a pay cut from his previous £200,000 salary to join Burnley. His wages are still likely to be the highest at Turf Moor, however, and former Everton chief Keith Wyness believes City are likely to be paying a portion of his wages.

Per the Football Insider podcast, Wyness said, “From what I understand, Kyle was on about £200,000 a week. I can tell you one thing, Burnley aren’t paying that. That’s for sure.

“I think Alan Pace would probably have a cardiac arrest if he thought he had to pay that sort of wage bill, so there’s no doubt Man City are sponsoring it in some way.

“Now, the rumour is that he’s gone for £5million. He was probably worth more than that, so there’s probably a deal being done about reducing the fee considerably, in return for Burnley paying a big part of his wages.

“Obviously Kyle Walker wanted to stay where he is, living exactly where he is, and that can happen around Burnley, so that’s one of the big reasons.”

England

First called up to the England senior team in February 2011, Walker made his first start for the Three Lions in November of the same year.

Playing on the right of a back three, he had a pivotal role as England reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup. It was the first time England had made a major semi-final in 28 years.

Included in the Team of the Tournament at Euro 2020 and 2024, Walker was integral as England reached the final on both occasions.

At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, he excelled in his matchup with Kylian Mbappe, despite the Three Lions’ loss to France in the quarters.

Currently on 96 caps, Walker is targeting the 100-cap landmark under Thomas Tuchel. He felt his England future was at risk when he wasn’t getting minutes at City.

"The only other black player to get 100 caps is Ashley Cole. If I can be the second black player to reach 100 caps it would be a great honour.

"It was a big relief when Tuchel gave me the call and we spoke. I even spoke about the move to AC Milan with him and said I wanted to stay in Europe because I do want to represent my country."

Milan

Out of favour at City in 2024/25, Walker asked Pep Guardiola to be released from his contract with six months left on his deal. Instead, City loaned Walker to Milan on a sixth-month agreement with the option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.

Walker debuted for Milan in the Derby della Madonnina against Inter on February 2. He made a total of 16 appearances for the club.

Leapfrogged by youngster Álex Jiménez for the starting right-back spot, Walker didn’t have a long-term future at San Siro. Milan’s new sporting director Igli Tare decided against activating the buy option in the loan agreement, sending Walker back to the Etihad.

Speaking on his own podcast about the move to Italy, Walker said he ‘wanted to cry’ at the thought of leaving City, but he holds no bad feelings.

"I've got no bad words, nothing negative to say whatsoever about City. What that club's done for me both on and off the field is incredible.

"When you take yourself away from the bubble you think about how lucky you were. That's no disrespect to any of the other clubs I played for, but the seven years we had there, I don't think it will happen again in football."

Burnley

Walker signed with Burnley in July 2025 for a fee of around £5 million. As Wyness stated, this is an opportunity for Walker to remain living in the same part of the country and take on an important leadership role with a newly promoted side.

After the signing was announced, Walker said, "I'm delighted to be here. When I spoke to Scott and heard about his plans for next season, it was an opportunity I jumped at.

"He's done an amazing job here, guiding the club back to the Premier League with a 100-point haul, and now we're looking forward, together, at being back in the greatest league in the world.

"Burnley had a tremendous campaign last season, built on an incredible defensive record, and I can't wait to come in and add my experience and quality to what looks an exciting squad."
