Baltimore and Barkley my regular season standouts
Another NFL regular season has been and gone and the team that impressed me most this year has to be the Baltimore Ravens.
It’s not just what Lamar Jackson and his offense has done, the defense was their main problem and they found a way to fix it.
That says a lot about them as a team. They had some early-season struggles with the new coordinator and they found a way by shifting around personnel and adapting how they call plays on defense. They’ve really improved and now they’re a really dangerous team.

When it comes to which player has impressed me most, although I believe Lamar is the MVP, I have to say Saquon Barkley. I expected Lamar to play like an MVP and he’s done that, but what Saquon has done has been so impressive.
He’s so talented and he’s really taken over the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive line. He’s the reason why people are fearing the Eagles in the playoffs. I knew he would play well but, my goodness, he’s a superstar!
Ravens, Chiefs, Eagles and Lions for the Championship
Looking ahead to the playoffs, I think the final four is going to be the Ravens, Chiefs, Eagles and Lions.
I would love to see the Vikings find a way back and make it into that final four, but it’s hard in the NFC. If they did turn it around though, I certainly wouldn’t be surprised!
Before the season started I predicted that it would be Chiefs against Lions in the Super Bowl and I’d like to lean on that still. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Ravens are there.
LA to lead the Charge in Houston
My first game to watch in Wild Card Weekend is from the AFC as the Houston Texans host the Los Angeles Chargers. The winner of this will face Kansas in the divisional round which won’t be easy, but they’d both still love to get there.
The Texans offense has been struggling and if they’re going to find a win then it’s going to be through their defense. They’re going to have to get after Justin Herbert, force some turnovers, and then lean on their running game.
I think the Chargers have a better chance of pulling it off here because of the way their offensive line and quarterback are playing.
They come into this game of three straight wins, which is key, because it’s so important to have momentum and confidence in the playoffs. I’m leaning towards the Chargers here.

Buccaneers can take Command
I also want to look at the later game on Saturday from the NFC, which sees the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Washington Commanders.
These two teams haven’t set the league alight but this game really caught my eye – this is going to be a battle!
I think everybody is a little fearful of the Buccaneers at the moment just because of how well their offense is playing. Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans and Bucky Irving really seem to have it figured out.
They’re scary on offense, but the challenge for them is going to be keeping Jayden Daniels from making big plays on them.
If they can’t keep him quiet then they’re going to be in trouble, because he’s always going to find a way to make explosive plays and keep drives alive.
That said, this is his first year in the NFL, it’s a long season and the intensity turns up in the playoffs.
With the Buccaneers, it’s all about what they can do on the ground. Baker is going to make big throws and link up with Mike Evans, but what Bucky Irving does on the ground is their foundation. I’m siding with the Buccaneers.
