Entering Week 15 of the 2025 NFL season, all teams have had their bye weeks and there are just four games to go.
It’s rather close at the top of the standings and seven teams are within two wins of the overall leaders on 11-2.
So, which of these teams will come out on top as the regular season closes to earn to outright top seed in the playoffs?
Here, we look at the team record odds and strength of schedule to see which franchises have the best shot at the top of the NFL’s regular season standings.
Rams and Broncos have the Best Regular Season Record Odds
With the Denver Broncos on 11-2 and the Los Angeles Rams on 10-3, both teams have been very impressive this season and continue to lead their respective conferences.
So, it won’t come as much of a surprise that the Broncos and Rams have the best odds to secure the best regular season records. For both, the over/under line is at 12.5 wins – just two more for Denver and three for the Rams.
The Broncos are out at 10/17 to secure the over on this line, while the Rams are at 5/6, owing to that extra win being required.
While impressive, these odds do somewhat mask what’s to come. Both have particularly difficult schedules remaining. In the American football odds for next week, the Broncos are at 11/10 to beat the Green Bay Packers.
The Rams have, on paper, got it a bit easier with their home game against the Detroit Lions and odds of 2/5 on the moneyline, but in Week 16, they’ll face the menacing Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field.
For strength of schedule, as of Week 14, the Broncos have the 22nd easiest in the league, while the Rams have the 26th. Both have been dominant and should expect to beat many of the tougher teams, but it won’t be easy.
Patriots, Bills, and Seahawks Expected to Finish Strongly
The Week 15 second-favourites in the Super Bowl betting were the Seattle Seahawks at 8/1, only trailing the Rams.
However, they’re entering the stretch with odds of 5/6 to secure under 12.5 wins while on a record of 10-3. This will be influenced by them having the 27th easiest – or rather, the sixth-most difficult – schedule remaining.
They need to play the Indianapolis Colts (8-5), the Rams (10-3), Carolina Panthers (7-6), and San Francisco 49ers (9-4).
Just ahead of the Seahawks are the New England Patriots. Tied with a league-leading 11-2 record, the Pats get odds of 1/2 to finish with under 13.5 wins. So, they’re expected to cap out with two more wins from four games.
Interestingly, the Patriots have the tenth-easiest schedule remaining. The Buffalo Bills, on the other hand, have the fourth-easiest.
At 9-4, the Bills have to face their divisional leaders, the Pats, and then the Cleveland Browns (3-10), Philadelphia Eagles (8-4), and New York Jets (3-10). With this schedule, the Bills are at 5/6 to beat the over line of 11.5 wins.
Divisional Context and the Final Game
A couple of things to keep in mind when weighing up the odds for teams to rank highly for their regular season record is their divisional placing and the final game.
When a team has secured their division’s title, even if the outright top seed is up for grabs, many will take the chance to rest their starters and key veterans to ensure they’re healthy for the playoffs.
This can also go for the teams in the wild card hunt that haven’t got a shot at the divisional title but have secured a playoff place.
After Week 14, none of the divisions were decided and not a single team had clinched a playoff spot. However, given the divisional context, it’d seem likely from here that the Broncos would rest many starters in Week 18.
It may depend on how much the team wants that top spot if the Patriots keep pace, but at least a two-win buffer on the Los Angeles Chargers means that the AFC West could be basically secured in the next couple of games.
While the NFL best regular season record odds see the Broncos and Rams as having the clearest shot at the top of the final rankings, changes week-to-week could easily pull the Bills, Patriots, or Seahawks closer to the leaders.
