Even if you don’t frequently bet on NFL, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of Peyton Manning.
One of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time, Manning enjoyed a decorated career in the NFL, and has become a popular TV personality since hanging up his cleats in 2015.
Per year | €16,149,600 | £13,764,287 |
Per month | €1,345,800 | £1,147,023 |
Per week | €310,569 | £264,697 |
Per day | €44,245 | £37,709 |
Per hour | €1,843 | £1,570 |
Per minute | €30 | £25 |
A former first overall pick, the New Orleans native lived up to the billing, first with the Indianapolis Colts, then with the Denver Broncos.
Like other iconic quarterbacks, Manning was capable of changing the course of a game, even when live betting markets suggested all hope was lost.
How Much Is Peyton Manning Worth?
Peyton Manning has a net worth of around £200 million. Manning has the ninth-highest career earnings in NFL history, but he’s bound to be overtaken by active stars like Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Patrick Mahomes in the years to come.
It’s worth noting, though, that Manning’s cap-inflated earnings are the highest in NFL history by a long distance. His longevity served him well when it came to making money from his on-field performances, plus he landed several lucrative endorsement deals, including with Buick and Papa John’s.
Since retiring, Manning’s net worth will have been added to through investments and his media work. He has been a regular feature on ESPN in the Manningcast and Peyton’s Places. In 2023, he became a professor in the College of Communication and Information at Tennessee.
Rivalry With Tom Brady
Peyton Manning had a 6-11 record against Tom Brady. From 2001 to 2015, the two were embroiled in the greatest individual rivalry in NFL history.
Brady finished with five more Super Bowls than Manning, but the latter had the edge in the regular season with his unprecedented five NFL MVPs.
Brady won the first six games between the two, and both got the better of one another in the postseason before winning the Super Bowl (Brady did so twice).

While they were well-matched on the gridiron, and their respective fan bases were far from friendly, the two were always amicable.
Brady was respectful following Manning’s induction to the Hall of Fame. Neither has shown any animosity towards the other, instead praising the other’s skillset.
Having played over 50 more regular season games and almost double the number of playoff games, Brady has superior statistics in the majority of categories.
Manning, however, had more yards per attempt in the regular and postseason, while posting more yards per game in the regular year.
Height
Peyton Manning is 6’5. This works out at 1.96 metres. Manning weighed in at 104 kilograms during his playing days.
For comparison, Tom Brady is 6’4, Aaron Rodgers is 6’2, and Lamar Jackson is 6’3.
Modern Family
In season eight, episode 13 of Modern Family, Peyton Manning appears as ‘Coach Gary’, a Little League coach helping Joe.
The Indianapolis Colts website recounts a chunk of Manning’s dialogue in the episode, where he looks to Jay for advice on a gazebo business.
After his well-received Saturday Night Live performance, this effort was Manning’s latest foray into the world of entertainment after leaving football a couple of years earlier.
Most reviews were pleasantly surprised with his acting, which can’t be said for every athlete which tries their hand at showbusiness.
Omaha
For a long time, Peyton Manning’s trademark ‘Omaha’ call was an NFL mystery. Manning was asked about it frequently, as were other quarterbacks and his teammates. No one really shed any light on the meaning until Manning’s explanation at the Adobe Summit in 2017.
He said, "Omaha was just an indicator word.

"It was a trigger word that meant we had changed the play, there was low time on the clock and the ball needed to be snapped right now to kind of let my offensive lineman know that 'Hey, we'd gone to Plan B, there's low time on the clock.' It's a rhythmic three-syllable word, 'O-ma-ha, set hut.'"
It became so high-profile that Manning even said people were offering him money to say another word.
He had previously claimed the meaning of ‘Omaha’ depended on the colour jerseys the team were wearing, the weather, and various other factors. We much prefer this explanation.
Super Bowl Rings
Peyton Manning has two Super Bowl rings. His wins came in 2007 and 2016 against the Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers, respectively.
In 2010 and 2014, he suffered losses to the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks, with a pair of interceptions in the latter game contributing to a heavy defeat for the Denver Broncos.
John Elway and Tom Brady are the only quarterbacks to have started more Super Bowls than Manning.
Brady, Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw, Patrick Mahomes, and Joe Montana all have more rings than Manning.
Brothers
Peyton Manning has two brothers. Cooper, the eldest, is an entrepreneur and television personality. The younger, Eli, is considerably more famous as a two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback.
Eli and Peyton faced off three times in the NFL, which must have been a complicated occasion for the family. Peyton was victorious in all three matchups.
The trio are the sons of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning, who made the Pro Bowl in 1978 and 1979.
